The beds on this list were selected based not only on popularity, but also by reviews. A few very popular mattresses were left off due to issues, so this list is more the top 5 most popular air mattresses that are well reviewed.

5. Zaltana Air Mattress (Single Size:73″x29″x7.5″) (ad)

Description: This twin air mattress inflates quickly, has a solid air lock, supports up to 350 lbs., and is 73 inches long.

Review: This is a pretty basic, yet solid air mattress that has shown to be very popular, probably because of the low price. There is no air pump included, and the air lock stopper seems to be a little suspect, but this bag is still a great value for someone who just wants a basic mattress.

Review: I think this is an amazing air mattress given that it comes with the rechargeable pump, which means you really could use it anywhere provided the pump was charged. As mentioned, the material is thick and durable, so it will last a long time. The price is a little steep, but you are paying for quality and convenience.

2. Coleman Quickbed with Pump Combo (ad)

Description: This mattress and pump combines comfort, reliability and versatility in one great airbed. This bed is 74″ x 39″ x 5″, weighs 9 pounds, and is constructed of high-grade, puncture-resistant PVC, with a Comfort Coil system inside for great support, and a soft plush top for luxurious comfort. The included pump uses 4D batteries (not included). The Quickbed uses Coleman’s Airtight System like all their mattresses, and thus stays inflated while you sleep. The mattress also is very easy to roll up and store.

Review: Just a generally great bed. I like that the pump uses batteries so you know it will work even if you are out in the wilderness. It packs up nice and tight so it is easy to store and carry.

1. AeroBed Classic Inflatable Mattress with Pump, Twin (ad)

Description: This mattress is 74″ x 39″ x 9″ and is the most popular mattress in this size on the market. Comes with pump that plugs into an outlet and a storage bag. The PVC vinyl is tough and will stand up to a lot of abuse. The bed deflates in 15 seconds flat.

Review: This is the most popular air mattress probably just because of the low price and the AeroBed brand is well known. It is a solid air mattress that shouldn’t provide you with any problems, although typical air mattress leakage issues do occur occasionally. If you are going to be using this for a long period of time, you should expect to have to add some air to it every now and then.
